Kisa Parker Voice Teacher and Founder of Houston Sings

KISA PARKER, mezzo-soprano, is an engaging performer, enthusiastic teacher and an inspiring church choir director. She performs opera, oratorio, and music theater, and is a popular soloist at Houston area churches. She also directs the Sanctuary Choir at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Katy.

 

In her decade of teaching experience, Kisa has served on the voice faculties of Preparatory and Continuing Studies at the Moores School of Music at UH, San Jacinto College, Lone Star College, and Sam Rayburn High School.

Kisa maintains a diverse studio and has helped hundreds of students achieve their vocal goals. Her students have been admitted as vocal music majors at major universities around the country (UH, Penn State, DePaul University, University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana, Loyola, New Orleans, LSU, SHSU, Texas Tech, and HBU).

 

Kisa's students participate in professional and community music theater and opera, and are active in church and community choruses (Houston Grand Opera Chorus, Houston Symphony Chorus).

 

Ms. Parker holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master of Music Degree in Applied Voice from Moores School of Music at University of Houston.
